North Shore Bank, celebrating its centennial anniversary, today announced that Margaret Capper, the bank’s senior vice president of commercial banking, has been named a Milwaukee Business Journal Women of Influence award recipient.
This prestigious recognition honors prominent business and community leaders from throughout southeastern Wisconsin who are making the Milwaukee area a better place to live and work. Capper was recognized as a “mentor” within the Women of Influence feature.
“I’m honored and humbled to be among such distinguished women of influence in the Milwaukee area. I’m proud to work with an outstanding team of colleagues, community partners, and customers who continue to show their support of one another, the community, and the banking industry,” said Capper. “My number one focus is on helping others wherever I can.”
Capper’s dedication goes beyond her work at North Shore Bank. From teaching financial literacy at Marquette University High School and leading fiscal responsibility classes for youth aging out of foster care through Bridge to Brighter, to working with Latino Chamber of Commerce of Southeastern Wisconsin members to help them start and build businesses, and more, Capper is a servant leader. Capper has also been a trustee at Christ King Parish for nearly a decade and over time she has had the opportunity to mentor families and youth on financial planning and budgeting.

As the leader of North Shore Bank’s commercial banking team, Capper has mentored her team through highs and lows, including difficulties with the pandemic, inflation and hiring demands, PPP loans and more.
Capper notes that she is immensely proud of the creative and dedicated team that she gets to work with daily, and hopes to inspire others to explore ways to use their skills outside of the workplace as well.
The Milwaukee Business Journal received nearly 140 nominations for this year’s program and only 30 were chosen. Capper will be honored at an awards ceremony on June 15. In 2022, Capper was named to Milwaukee BizTimes’ inaugural Notable Commercial Banking Leaders list.
